1. Where is San Felipe?
Located 125 miles south of the International border between Calexico, California and Mexicali, Baja California, Facing the Sea Of Cortez. [Back to top]

2. How do I get there?
The primary route to San Felipe is via Mexico's Federal Highway 5. A secondary route exists via Tijuana following Highway 1 south to Ensenada, Highway 3 east to Highway 5 and south from there to San Felipe. [Back to top]

3. Can I fly into San Felipe? If so, which airlines?

 A charter flight service is set up (2006) to fly into San Felipe International Airport. Service will operate from Long Beach, Carlsbad and Phoenix. 4. What is the Fideicomiso?
Fideicomiso is the Mexican organization, mostly a bank, which holds the title to the residential property for foreigners. The foreigners are granted the rights of ownership such as possession, right to construct and to tear down, to rent, to sell, through the fideicomiso.

5. Why Fideicomiso?
Investment Law in December 1993 (NAFTA), foreigners can now own land in the formerly restricted zones - within 30 miles of the beach and 50 miles of the border - through a Fideicomiso (Trust).Foreigners acquire irrevocable and absolute ownership rights to property in Mexico through a 50-year perpetually renewable and transferable Bank Trust called a Fideicomiso. This Trust is a legal substitute for deeded (commonly referred to in the U.S. as fee simple) ownership and is provided specifically for non-nationals to own property in the formerly restricted zones (border and beach areas.)
